The Ministry of Culture of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria
organizes the International Cultural Festival of Illumination and Miniature.
This annual competition aims at considering the progress of illumination and
miniature. It also tends to encourage and develop creativity that has been
fostered. In this regard The Festival is a distinguished artistic event.
Besides, it is an opportunity to invite artists all over the globe who is
dealing with miniature painting and illumination in particular, in order to
develop the artistic process with different means, as well as to introduce and
make acquaintance with the new techniques, added to the human experience in
this specialized scope.
Sema Balaman is involved in the Festival since 2011 and selects and submits
artists to the Festival from all countries of Central Asia and Asia:
particularly including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Japan, China and India. She is a member of the comittee and the jury.
