Balbal is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization established in New York City in 2009. Our vision is to expand and disseminate cultural knowledge across countries in Central Asia and the United States to bridge the gap between understanding and lack thereof among their peoples. To that end, our organization’s mission is to initiate artistic and cultural preservation projects and cultural exchanges in the regions encompassing the areas of Central Asia, Siberia, Mongolia and Northwestern China - regions that are populated with the ancient balbal stone figures which our organization takes it’s name from.
